Bulacan cops arrest criminal group member, 41 law offenders

Bulacan police arrested a member of a criminal group in the City of San Jose Del Monte (CSJDM) on Tuesday, Jan. 24.

Col. Relly B. Arnedo, Bulacan police director, identified the arrested suspect as Jhon Edward Zapata, 22, tagged as a high-value individual, a resident of Barangay Tarcan, Baliuag.

Based on the intelligence report, Zapata is one of the leaders of the Zapata Criminal Group (ZCG) responsible for robbery incidents and proliferation of illegal drugs in the province. He was also included in the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Top 10 target List.

Zapata has a warrant of arrest for the crime of robbery in an uninhabited place issued by the Municipal Trial Court Branch 1 of Lucena City, Quezon.

One the same day, the police also arrested Raine Aajonus Gaviola, a city-level most wanted person of CSJDM, for two counts of statutory rape.

Gaviola was nabbed by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 5-Family Court in CSJDM, Bulacan on Jan. 11, 2023, with no bail recommended.

Meanwhile, 40 law offenders were also arrested in a series of anti-criminality operations launched by Bulcan police. Twenty-three of the apprehended were wanted persons.

Seventeen drug personalities were also nabbed in anti-illegal drugs operations conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of Bocaue, Malolos City, Marilao, Meycauayan City, Pulilan, San Miguel, CSJDM, and Sta. Maria on the same day.

Seized from the suspects were 67 sachets of suspected shabu, five sachets of suspected marijuana with an estimated value of P143,912; drug paraphernalia and buy-bust money.
