First Lady has 'zero' involvement in appointment of gov't officials—Marcos
First Lady Araneta-Marcos has "zero" involvement in the appointment process of the present administration, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. said.

In an interview, Marcos denied that the First Lady has a hand in the appointment of government officials and his governance.
"Zero. She really has no – she really has no input on that," he said when asked of the involvement of the First Lady in his decision making process as the chief executive.
"The First Lady helps me in terms of the organization because she is actually very, very good at that. Organizing which office, how the office – how the workflow goes, where the documents go through. She is well – she is a well-trained lawyer so she is very good at that," he further said.
The President said he does not talk policies with his wife nor consult her in his political decisions.
He only turns to her in legal matters whenever he needs an expert opinion.
"Not political. Not political decisions. Legal. Oh yeah, legal I will ask her. I will ask... I will ask... Whenever there’s a legal question, I’m not a lawyer so I need an expert opinion. She’s right next to me most of the time so I could turn to her," Marcos said.
Marcos also clarified that the First Lady "doesn’t come to the office and sit with us at all."
"If I have something to ask her it’s usually definitions. Define to me what is the legal definition of this, what is the legal definition of that. When they talk about this, what do they mean? What’s the legal concept behind that? It’s usually – that’s the kind of question – because she’s a teacher. So that’s the kind of question I ask her," he further said.
This was brought up following the First Lady's statement in early January, denying that she had a hand in the appointment process of the President, warning that those using her name may not get the position they desire.
She specifically denied having an involvement in the appointment of officials at the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP).
“I have nothing to do with the appointments. I leave that up to my husband," she said. "If I find out that somebody is using my name, I shall tell my husband not to appoint you, okay? So, I hope this is clear everyone."
