2 cops help woman give birth during Dinagyang Festival


ILOILO CITY – Two policemen assigned to Guimaras province sent to this city to augment security for the 2023 Dinagyang Festival over the weekend helped a woman give birth.

A report from the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) said Staff Sgt. Resurrecion R. Aliponso Jr. of the San Lorenzo Municipal Station and Corporal Joe Ben Moleño of the Sibunag Municipal Station were on foot patrol on J.M. Basa around 6 a.m. when they encountered Charlane and her husband Juanito who were in this city for the festival.

The two police officers assisted the 27-year-old Charlane who suddenly have birth. She successfully delivered a healthy baby girl.

“Truly, policemen like PSSg Alipunso and PCpl Moleño are epitome of what a public servant should be-having a heart that truly beats to serve where help is needed,” the ICPO said in a statement.
