A woman and her companion were arrested by members of the Southern Police District (SPD) Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) and Parañaque Police Station in a buy-bust operation that resulted in the confiscation of over P3 million worth of shabu in Parañaque City on Friday, Jan. 20.
SPD director Brig. Gen. Kirby John Kraft identified the suspects as Fahima Matula, 34, alias Tita, and Jhonix Casanova, 23.
Kraft said the suspects were arrested around 9:00 p.m. at the corner of Quirino Ave. and De Julio St. in Barangay Baclaran, Parañaque City.
He said the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) coordinated with the SPD-DEU and Parañaque police for the arrest of suspects for their illegal drug trade.
The SPD chief said the cops confiscated from the suspects eight heat-sealed transparent sachets and two knot-tied plastic sachets containing shabu weighing more or less 530 grams worth P3,604,000.
Kraft said the suspects are now detained at the police custodial facility and were charged for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
