
BACOLOD CITY – An alleged military asset was shot dead by the Leonardo Panaligan Command (LPC) of the New People’s Army (NPA) Central Negros Guerrilla Front in Sitio Tubod, Barangay Macagahay, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental on Thursday, Jan. 19.
Police said the victim, Raffy Estorco, 29, of Barangay Macagahay, was shot by an unidentified person while he was driving his motorcycle and succumbed to a bullet wound in the forehead.
In a statement dated Friday, Jan. 20, JB Regalado, spokesperson of the LPC, said that Estorco was an intelligence asset of the Army 62nd Infantry Battalion (IB) in the area.
Regalado said that Estorco guides the military in their operations in the boundaries of the cities of Guihulngan and Canlaon in Negros Oriental and Moises Padilla.
Col. Michael Samson, acting commander of the 303rd Infantry Brigade (IBde), denied that Estorco is an asset of the 62nd IB.
