Members of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) collared a 65-year-old man wanted for murder after he tried to secure a police clearance in the city on Thursday, Jan. 19.
Police identified the suspect as Oscar Casuco, the No. 1 most wanted person of the QCPD Kamuning Station (PS 10), a resident of Barangay Payatas, Quezon City.
The QCPD said that the suspect was arrested at around 4 p.m. on Thursday at the National Police Clearance Office on the second floor of the NGO Building, Quezon City Hall complex.
Casuco was trying to secure a police clearance when authorities found out that he has a warrant of arrest for murder issued by Executive Judge Yolanda U. Dagandan of Regional Trial Court Branch 15 of Burven, Leyte.
Meanwhile, 10 persons wanted for various crimes such as cyber libel, reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property, frustrated murder, and malicious mischief were also nabbed in a series of operations conducted by QCPD Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, District Special Operations Unit, and different police stations on Thursday and Friday, Jan. 20.
The courts of origin of the warrants will be notified of the arrest of the accused, police said.
