CAMP OLA, Albay – Authorities arrested a couple and seized two kilos of suspected shabu valued at P13.6 million in a buy-bust operation in Naga City, Camarines Sur on Thursday evening, Jan. 19.
Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib, Police Regional Office (PRO)-5 (Bicol region) spokesperson, identified the suspects as Nelynn Montevirgen Tobias, 40, and Ernan Calisay Tobias, 45, residents of Sitio Uno, Patimbao, Santa Cruz, Laguna.
Calubaquib said the suspects were arrested after they sold one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu weighing 500 grams and valued at P1.1 million to poseur-buyers.
"Further during the conduct of body search and search of the Ford Ranger vehicle used by the suspects, one ecobag containing two pieces self-sealed transparent plastic, both containing white crystalline weighing 1,500 grams; a plastic bag containing marked money and boodle money; a sling bag containing one Taurus caliber 9 mm pistol, and wallet containing IDs were recovered," Calubaquib said.
"Suspects were informed of the nature of their arrest and later apprised of their constitutional rights in a dialect known to them," Calubaquib added.
The recovered illegal drug was marked in the presence of witnesses and suspects are now in the custody of authorities.
