Apayao, 14 towns named most peaceful places in Cordillera


CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – The province of Apayao and 14 municipalities were named the most peaceful places in the Cordillera during the Police Regional Office-Cordillera Command Conference here on Wednesday, Jan. 18.

Brig. Gen. Mafelino Bazar, regional police director, who presided over the meeting, said based on parameters set by the PRO-Cordillera, Apayao was adjudged the Most Peaceful Province in the Cordillera Region for only having 32 focused crime incidents for calendar year 2022.

The Certificate of Recognition was received by Col. Jefferson Cariaga, Apayao Police Provincial Office (PPO) chief.

The municipalities of Tubo, Bucloc, and Daguioman in the province of Abra were cited for recording one crime incident each for the past five years or from 2018 to 2022.

Special recognition were given to Boliney, Bucloc, Daguioman, Luba, San Quintin, Tubo, and Tineg municipalities in Abra; Barlig, Besao, and Natonin towns in Mountain Province, and the town of Kabayan in the province of Benguet for registering zero focus crime incidents for 2022.

Bazar personally distributed their Certificates of Recognition and cash incentives at the PRO-Cordillera log cabin.
