CAMP Francisco S. Macabulos, Tarlac City – Police arrested seven suspected members of a robbery gang
in a hot-pursuit operation that started in Barangay Santo Domingo 2nd, Capas, Tarlac and ended in Moncada, Tarlac before dawn on Friday, Jan. 20.
Capas police received a report about a robbery incident at Matias Trucking. The victim told police that he saw the suspects loading stolen assorted car and truck batteries and containers of diesel fuel to their get-away vehicle.
Police accosted the suspects but one of them fired at lawmen, triggering a chase that ended in Poblacion 1, Moncada when a tire of their vehicle was disabled with a shot from a responding lawman.
One of the suspects fired at policemen who retaliated and wounded the suspect who fell on the pavement. The suspects were arrested and recovered from them were a caliber .38 revolver and the stolen items.
Police found out that the group was involved in robbery and theft of properties owned by truck drivers, MV and truck batteries, and crude oil and other petroleum liquids. They had been operating in Metro Manila, Region 3, and Region 4-A.
Suspects are detained at the Capas MPS. A robbery case is being prepared against them.
