2 men nabbed for robbery-holdup, illegal possession of firearms in QC

Two men were arrested for robbery-holdup and illegal possession of firearms in a follow-up operation conducted by members of Quezon City Police District (QCPD) La Loma Police Station (PS 1) in Barangay Apolonio Samson, Quezon City on Sunday, Jan. 1.
Lt. Col. Garman Manabat, PS1 commander, identified the suspects as Jamile de Jesus, 34; and Roy Falcutan, 32.
According to the police report, the victim, identified as Lester Nicasio, said he was robbed by two men onboard a motorcycle.
The suspects introduced themselves as police officers, Nicasio added.
After robbing the victim, the suspects fled towards Balintawak.
Nicasio sought police assistance from members of the PS 1 Tactical Motorcycle Riding Unit (TMRU) who were conducting patrol operations along Kaingin Road in Barangay Apolonio Samson at around 7:45 p.m. on Sunday.
The victim and the patrolling officers immediately chased the fleeing suspects.
They cornered the suspects on Kaingin Road near Barangay Apolonio Samson Hall.
Confiscated from the suspects were a “sumpak" or an improvised firearm with 12-gauge shotgun live ammunition, a .22-caliber revolver loaded with four pieces of ammunition, a Suzuki Skydive motorcycle, and a cellular phone owned by the victim.
The suspects are facing charges for robbery, illegal possession of firearms and usurpation of authority or official functions, police said.
