ILOILO CITY – Two persons were killed when their vehicle crashed on Monday, Jan. 2, in Nabas town, Aklan province.

The Nabas Municipal Police Station said the victims were among the more than 20 passengers onboard an Elf that went off the road after its tires burst.
The victims from the town of New Washington in Aklan were on their way to the Malumpati Cold Spring in Pandan town, Antique province. However, they were stopped at the provincial boundary since they had cooked meat products banned due to cases of African Swine Fever (ASF).
They figured in the accident on their way to Hurom-Hurom, which is also a cold spring located in Nabas.
The victims were taken to the Ibajay District Hospital by the Nabas Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Nabas.
