A 50-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stealing a metal vault from a house in Quezon City on Wednesday, Jan. 18.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Masambong Station (PS 2) identified the suspect as Carlo Adolfo Pangilinan, 50, a resident of Brgy. Veterans Village, QC.
According to the police report, PS 2 cops were conducting an anti-criminality patrol along Dangay Street in Brgy. Veterans Village at about 9 p.m. when they spotted the suspect carrying a vault while exiting the main gate of a house.
The patrolling police officers became suspicious when the suspect hurriedly placed the vault on his motorcycle.
Police later learned that the suspect climbed the gate and entered the house through the sliding window.
The suspect went to the rooms on the second and third floors until he found the safety vault which he immediately took and brought outside, police added.
The steel vault was recovered from the suspect along with a sack containing 15 kilos of rice and a "balisong" (fan knife).
Police said the suspect will face charges of robbery in inhabited house under Article 299 of the Revised Penal Code.
