CEBU CITY – Gov. Aris Aumentado backed programs that the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO-7) will implement in Bohol.

Brig. Gen. Jerry Bearis, director of PRO-7, visited Aumentado on Wednesday, Jan. 18, at the provincial capitol in Tagbilaran City where they discussed various plans, including measures to keep the province, one of the country’s top tourist destinations, peaceful.
During the meeting, Bearis presented his plans and programs focusing on the utilization of mobile forces for urban patrolling, the creation of the Anti-Drug Advocates Battalion, and the creation of the Israeli-inspired Center for Public Safety Analysis. Also present in the meeting was Col. Lorenzo Batuan, chief of the Bohol Provincial Police Office.
Aumentado said he and Bearis also discussed the interventions that the provincial government will make for drug surrenderees. “We really want to help these drug surrenderees so they will have a chance to reform and have better lives,” Aumentado said.
The governor said he was satisfied with how the PRO-7 director presented his peace and order programs for the province. “I reiterated our full commitment to support the PRO-7. The provincial government is always ready to support the program of our police,” Aumentado said.
