Parañaque Mayor Olivarez tells residents, establishments to follow schedule of garbage collection
Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez told residents and establishments to follow the schedule of garbage collection to avoid being penalized.
Olivarez made the announcement on Wednesday, Jan. 18, after the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) issued a schedule of Metrowaste garbage collection.
“Nakikiusap po tayo sa ating mga kababayan na ilabas lamang ang basura sa takdang oras at araw upang maiwasan nang magkaroon ng mga tambak ng basura sa ating mga lansangan,” (I am appealing to residents as well as establishments to follow the schedule of garbage collection to prevent piling of garbage on our streets) Olivarez said.
The mayor also asked the CENRO head, Mark Allen Besa, to deploy members of Bantay Kalikasan and Environmental police to go around the city to make sure residents and establishments around the city are following that schedule of garbage collection.
Olivarez said the mayor’s Additional Support Group and Task Force Baclaran will also be dispatched.
The mayor added the city government will strictly implement City Ordinance No. 17-22 Series of 2017 on the proper disposal of garbage.
Olivarez said under the city ordinance any individuals who will be caught disposing garbage not on their schedule will be penalized with P500 for the first offense, P1,000 for the second, and P1,500 for the third offense.
He said for the establishments, they will be penalized with P3,000 for the first offense, P5,000 for the second, and revocation of business permit for the third offense.
