Small aircraft stalled at NAIA runway


A small aircraft stalled in one of the runways of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Tuesday morning, Jan. 17.

In a statement, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said it sent its personnel from the Rescue and Firefighting Division, Airport Grounds Operation and Safety Division, Medical Team and Airport Security to check on the passengers and crew of the King Air aircraft.

It said the incident happened at Runway 13/31.

"The seven passengers and two crew members were unharmed, and immediately assisted by the MIAA Rescue Team," the statement read,

The aircraft was successfully extracted at 10:43 a.m. and clearing operations was done by the MIAA Airport Ground Operations Safety Division (AGOSD) to check for possible Foreign Object Debris (FOD) before giving clearance to re-open Runway 13/31.

Runway 13/31 was re-opened by 1048H.

No flights were affected during the emergency situation.
