Government anti-narcotics operatives destroyed P4.2 million worth of fully-grown marijuana plants in Tampakan, South Cotabato, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said on Tuesday, Jan. 17.
The PDEA South Cotabato Provincial Office, the military and the local police immediately proceeded to the plantation site in Barangay Tablu on Monday, Jan 16, after confirming intelligence reports of the presence of marijuana plantation in the area.
They then uprooted the fully-grown marijuana plants in more or less 21,000 hills after receiving information from their asset.
Based on the tip received by the authorities, the cultivator, Yatan Piang, was able to elude arrest.
