Mayor Malapitan commends NPD on Ethics Day

Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan commended the Northern Police District (NPD) during the 29th Ethics Day celebration at the firing range of Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS) on Saturday, Jan. 16.

The 29th Ethics Day celebration is an annual event attributed to the efforts and hard work of Philippine National Police (PNP) members. It was themed "Serbisyong may Malasakit, Kaayusan at Kapayapaan Tungo sa Kaunlaran, Handog ng Pambansang Pulisya Kabalikat ang Simbahan at Pamayanan."

An awarding ceremony for NPD officers was held after the flag raising and thanksgiving Mass.

Malapitan hailed the actions and programs of the NPD members to maintain peace and order in the north regional district.

“Malaking responsibilidad ang pagiging miyembro ng ating pambansang kapulisan (Being a member of our national police is a big responsibility). Today, we celebrate Ethics Day to remind you to live up to the values institutionalized by the Philippine National Police,” Malapitan said in his speech.

“Mahalagang bahagi po kayo ng pagpapanatili ng kapayapaan, kaayusan at pagsulong ng kaunlaran ng ating siyudad (You are an important part in maintaining peace, order and advancing the development of our city),” the mayor added.

The local chief executive also encouraged NPD officers to continue upholding the values of humility and nationalism as they serve as examples to the youth.

“Nawa’y dumami pa ang ating kapulisan at magkaisa tayo katuwang ng Simbahan at ordinaryong mamamayan tungo sa isang mapagmalasakit na pamayanan (May our police force increase and unite together with the Church and ordinary citizens towards a caring community),” he remarked.

The NPD members also underwent a lecture about ethical standards.
