LUBUAGAN, Kalinga – Police arrested two 17-year-old students for allegedly transporting marijuana here on Sunday, Jan. 15.
Brig. Gen. Mafelino Bazar, Police Regional Office-Cordillera director, said the suspects from Tabuk City, Kalinga were nabbed by the Kalinga Provincial Police Office for disobeying policemen and evading a checkpoint in Barangay Dangoy.
The suspects were frisked and yielded semi-tubular form of dried marijuana leaves and stalks weighing more or less than 570 grams with a standard drug price of P68,400.
Inventory of pieces of evidence was conducted onsite in the presence of the suspects, who were newly identified drug personalities, and witnessed by Lubuagan Councilor Simi Colayot and a media representative.
Suspects and evidence were taken to the Kalinga police Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit for documentation and proper disposition.
The duo is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
