PH Red Cross provides hot meals to Valenzuela City fire victims


The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) distributed hot meals to 200 individuals affected by a residential fire in Bitik, Brgy. Gen. T. De Leon, Valenzuela City.

The fire, which occurred on Saturday, Jan. 14, reached the first at 12:21 p.m. and was declared fire out at 1:50 p.m., said the Valenzuela City Command, Control, and Communication Center in its Facebook account.

The Valenzuela City local government unit is still investigating the cause of the incident.

A firetruck with seven firefighters and an ambulance team with three Emergency Medical Services personnel was deployed by PRC on the ground.

PRC noted that four patients who had minor injuries received treatment from its medical volunteers.

An estimated 100 families sought temporary shelter at Bitik Elementary School, the organization added.
