Jeannie Jarina to represent PH at Mrs. Universe Pageant in Bulgaria

Filipino businesswoman Jeannie Jarina will represent the Philippines at the Mrs. Universe Pageant in Sofia, Bulgaria on Feb. 5.
During a send-off party held at Club Filipino in Greenhills, San Juan last Jan. 13, Jeannie said that she's excited to compete in the international pageant.
"I've prepared physically. I exercise regularly and I've done meditations also. I also read a lot about Bulgaria and other current events. Right now I'm just enjoying my journey in this pageant. I'm not nervous anymore because I know I will enjoy this pageant," said Jeannie.

Present during the party were Mrs Universe FDN Queens, headed by its National Director actress-singer Maria Charo Calalo; officers and members of the Tamaraw Toastmasters Club; pageant media, her close friends and family.
A graduate of the Ateneo Graduate School of Business, Jeanie is also the CEO of her own construction company. The beauty queen has three children.
Jeannie is also a member of Toastmaster International, a non-profit organization that promotes public speaking and leadership.

"Being a member of Toastmaster, I learned to express myself. I also try to be unique and kindhearted. Most of the time, I try to be natural. What you see is what you get," she said.
If asked about the Philippines abroad, Jeannie said that she will tell foreigners that Filipinos are the kindest people in the universe.
Jeannie also said that Filipinas are phenomenal in pageantry because they are beautiful. "We are unique as compared to others. Filipinas are true to themselves. They are kindhearted individuals."

When asked why she should be the next Mrs. Universe, Jeannie said: "I'm beautiful and intelligent."
Jeannie also said that she's focused on the advocacy of Mrs. Universe which is the prevention of domestic violence.
"I try to be well informed on the issue of domestic violence because I want to be fully informed about it. I want to inspire other people so that they can help prevent domestic violence," she said.

Describing herself as an empowered and strong person, Jeannie said she joined pageants to inspire other people.
"Yes. I'm an epitome of success but with Mrs Universe pageant, I can inspire and be a role model to women especially those who are hopeless that they can do more," Jeannie also said.
