The journey of the Philippines to continue its winning streak at Miss Universe ended on Jan. 14 (Jan. 15 in Manila) after Filipino-Italian Celeste Cortesi failed to enter semifinals of the 71st Miss Universe Competition in New Orleans, Louisiana.

This is the first time in 12 years that the Philippines failed to make it in the semis of the prestigious competition.

Let's recap the 12 Filipino beauty queens who successfully entered the semifinals of the Miss Universe Pageant from 2010 to 2021:

Janine Tugonon (1st runner-up, 2012)
