6 arrested for online sabong in Dagupan City

DAGUPAN CITY – Six men were arrested for allegedly engaging in online sabong or cockfighting in Barangay Herrero-Perez in this city before dawn on Sunday, Jan. 15.

Police identified suspects as Ian Samayo Suyod, 41; Arsan Tolentino Manawat, 36; Armando Ponce Rosario, 66; Kevin Bustamante Tan, 30; Sotero Paulo Galsim Rodas, 52, and Ompi Lopez Ferrer, 34

Seized from them were bet money amounting to P3,000 and a black cellphone.

A complaint for violation of Presidential Decree 1602, which prescribes stiffer penalties on illegal gambling as amended by Republic Act (RA) 9287, An Act Increasing the Penalties for Illegal Numbers Games, Amending Certain Provisions of Presidential Decree No. 1602, and for Other Purposes, is now being readied against the suspects.
