Chinese firm to build electric vehicle plant in Bacolod

BENITEZ

BACOLOD CITY – Mayor Alfredo Abelardo ‘’Albee’’ Benitez recently revealed that a multi-billion company in China is planning to build an electric vehicle plant here.

“It was an eye-opener,” Benitez said as he met several big companies in China during the state visit of President Ferdinand ‘’Bongbong’’ Marcos Jr. last week.

Benitez said he is happy to know that one of these companies has already identified this city as their place of operations for an electric vehicle plant or electric public utility vehicle.

“It’s a collaboration between Chinese and Korean companies,” he added.

Benitez said he has discussed the potential investment with the chief executive officer and chairman of the company, adding that their representatives have already visited the city.

Aside from this, the mayor said that some of these companies have also expressed interest in infrastructure projects here. In fact, he said they are set to visit the city soon.
