Ambulance driver killed in Isabela Friday the 13th smash-up


ALICIA, Isabela – The driver of an ambulance died in a collision with a truck on the Alicia-San Mateo Road in Barangay Salvacion here on Friday the 13th.

Police identified the fatality as Jurezz Mark Perpetua of Bagong Silang, Caloocan City.

Investigation said the Nissan Urvan ambulance accidentally struck the rear of the Isuzu Elf truck loaded with 120 sacks of hog pellets driven by Jose Cabauatan Jr. of Barangay Babaran, Echague, Isabela.

The truck moved forward for about 15 meters and ended up in a rice field due to the impact.

Perpetua sustained serious injuries and was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.

The two vehicles, which were on their way to San Mateo, Isabela when the incident happened, incurred an undetermined amount of damage, Staff Sgt. Rolando M. Cagurangan Jr., investigator-on-case.
