PCUP Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Elpidio R. Jordan, Jr. paid a courtesy visit to PRC Headquarters in Mandaluyong City last Jan. 10 and spoke with PRC Chairman and CEO Richard Gordon to "discuss the programs and services that the latter can extend to uplift the current plight of the marginalized sector in the country."

This was according to a statement released by PCUP on Friday, Jan. 13.

This partnership, to be signed no later than early 2023, will create opportunities related to disaster management, volunteer service, emergency response, and other life-saving services that protect the lives and dignity of the said sector, Jordan noted.

"I have always believed in the holistic approach of the Philippine Red Cross to uplift the condition of the needy, most especially the urban poor. In their 75 years in service, they were able to deliver with pure intentions and it is to help more people," he added.

The exploratory meeting was also attended by PRC Secretary General Gwendolyn Pang, PRC Officer-in-Charge for Safety Services Jaylord Abrigado, PRC NBS Director Christie Monina Nalupta, PRC Executive Assistant under Office of the Chairman Iny Samson and Carla Acevedo, PCUP Special Asst. for Internal and External Affairs Jimmy Uy, and Project and Policy Development Unit head Yvelen Moraña.
