PAF flies relief aid to calamity-hit areas in Visayas, Mindanao
The Philippine Air Force (PAF) said Friday, Jan. 13, that it transported 1,500 boxes of relief goods to areas affected by different calamities in Visayas and Mindanao.

A PAF C-295 medium lift aircraft operated by the 220th Airlift Wing delivered the relief goods to Zamboanga City, Mactan in Cebu province, and Bacolod City last Jan. 12, said PAF spokesperson Col. Ma. Consuelo Castillo.
Castillo said the relief goods would be prepositioned to the satellite offices of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) Disaster Operations Center “to support families in the said areas were affected by different calamities.”
The relief efforts are expected to benefit communities in Zamboanga City that were affected by widespread flooding due to heavy rains since early this month, as well as the families reeling from separate massive fire incidents in Mandaue City in November last year.
Some items were also prepositioned in Bacolod City “in preparation for anticipated calamities in the area.”
