71ST MISS UNIVERSE PAGEANT: Fun facts

Here are some interesting facts (and rumors) about the 71st Miss Universe Competition which will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana on Jan. 14 (Jan. 15 in Manila).

  • There will be 16 semifinalists in this year's competition. Unconfirmed reports said that from 16 girls, the semifinalists will be narrowed down to five. Then there will be three winners.
  • The winner of 2022 Miss Universe and her two runners-up will fly to Thailand after the coronation where they will have their own penthouse.
  • The winner will stay often in Thailand instead of New York City.
  • On Feb. 14, the new queens will announce the venue for the 2023 Miss Universe Competition.
  • It is expected that the 2023 Miss Universe will be held in Thailand in December.
  • The Miss Universe Organization will launch the Miss Universe drinking water to be sold in Thailand nationwide.
