K-pop boy band VIXX's Ravi suspected of faking medical report for military service
K-pop boy band VIXX member Ravi is under suspicion of faking his medical exam results for his military service.
Ravi, a former regular member of the TV entertainment show “2 Days & 1 Night,” enlisted in the military last October and is currently serving as a social worker.

On Jan. 12, The Kyunghyang Shinmun newspaper reported that a group of brokers fixing to lower physical exam grades claimed that a famous idol rapper was able to reduce military service.
A former military official who is at the center of the suspicion of corruption in the military service was known to have set up an office related to military service issues in Gangnam, Seoul and worked to inform people on how to be exempted from military service, a mandatory duty for all men in Korea.
Another broker is known to have received commissions from tens of millions of won up to 100 million won for military-related administrative fees.
Prosecutors are currently expanding the investigation as there are about 100 people who have evaded military service through brokers. Among them were children of people in the legal profession.
Ravi’s agency, Groovl1n, stated, “First, after hearing the report, we are closely grasping the related content.”
“It is appropriate to quickly state our position, but since the related content is related to the duty of national defense, it seems reasonable to first grasp the details and then explain in detail. We are currently figuring out the details," it said.
If he is found guilty, Ravi could face imprisonment.
Under Article 86 of Korea’s Military Service Act, “Any person who deserts, absconds, or injures his body or commits a deceitful act, with the intention of evading military service or having military service reduced or exempted, shall be punished by imprisonment for not less than one year, but not more than five years.”
