Honest Batanes cop returns ₱15,000 accidentally sent to his GCash account

BATANES – One mistake a sender should avoid when sending a certain amount through GCash is “wrong recipient.”

Such was the case of a lady sender from Quezon City who sent an amount of ₱15,000 to a wrong recipient.

Fortunately for her, the cash was sent to an honest policeman who did not have second thought to send back the money to her.

At first, Police Staff Sergeant Anselmo H. Gari Jr. of the Sabtang Police Station, Batanes thought the ₱15,000 GCash accidentally sent to his account on Jan. 5 was a gift for New Year.

Moments after receiving the amount, Sgt. Gari received a text message asking him to return the money.

Knowing it was a hard-earned money, PSSgt. Gari immediately called to confirm the real owner, after which he immediately returned the amount.

A certain Rose of Quezon City was grateful for the return of her money.
