Gen. Azurin confident all target police officers will submit courtesy resignation before deadline

PUGO, La Union – Philippine National Police Chief General Rodolfo Azurin, Jr. is confident all third level police officers will be able to submit their courtesy resignation before the January 31 deadline.

Azurin said that as of 9:00 a.m. of January 12, 88 percent of target PNP personnel have submitted their courtesy resignations which are now being processed and checked before they are submitted to the 5-man team committee for evaluation and assessment.

"As I mentioned earlier, this method is a huge challenge among the police and we have seen the responsiveness of our senior police officers to show their support in our campaign against illegal drugs,” said Azurin.

General Azurin was in town for a groundbreaking ceremony in Barangay Cuenca, Pugo, La Union where a 2-storey Community Police Assistance Centers (COMPAC) will be constructed.

"We did this to show the public that we have nothing to hide or are biased against illegal drugs,” said Azurin.

“We submit ourselves to cleanse our ranks, to submit ourselves for evaluation and assessment and these senior officers of ours are our future leaders in the PNP who will face the public," added Azurin.
