The Iloilo City Council has approved the request of the Philippine National Police coursed through the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) and the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).

“Unlike in the previous celebrations, the modified scheme of the signal shutdown will not affect the whole City of Iloilo,” said Major Shella Mae Sangrines, ICPO spokesperson.

Signal will be jammed only at the Iloilo Freedom Grandstand, Plaza Libertad, Plazoleta Gay, Provincial Capitol, Central Market, University of Iloilo, and the vicinity of SM Delgado from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Jan. 21, Saturday, and 22, Sunday.

Signal will also be jammed in portions of Mandurriao District from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Jan. 21 for a major competition and parade of lights.

Dinagyang resumes after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.
