Ateneo declares a 'University Holiday' on Jan. 23
The Ateneo De Manila University (AdMU) will go on a “University Holiday” on Jan. 23 to celebrate the many achievements of the university and its students.

“I am declaring Monday, 23 January 2023 as a University Holiday,” said President Roberto C. Yap SJ in a memorandum addressed to the University Community issued Thursday, Jan. 12.
“Let us rejoice and thank God for these many achievements and may it inspire us to use our talents as a force for good in the world,” Yap said.
The “University Holiday” aims to celebrate Ateneo de Manila’s performance in international rankings.
Ateneo was cited as the top Philippine University in THE World University Rankings and the top Philippine University in THE Impact Rankings.

The holiday, Yap said, also aims to “recognize the championships of our students” who participated in the first semester University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) events particularly the Women's Badminton Team (3-peat Champions); Men's Basketball Team (Champions); and Men's Swimming Team (7-peat Champions).
The one-day break also recognizes the feat of the Ateneo Debate Society Team A Champions in the World Universities Debating Championship.
