6 K-pop artists place in top 10 album rankings in US in 2022


Luminate, the company that supplies music data to Billboard for its charts, has released its “Luminate Year-End Music Report” for the US in 2022.

The report showed six K-pop artists entering the top 10 in different categories for albums in the US last year.

Under Top Albums based on total sales (physical and digital) in 2022 in the US, Taylor Swift’s “Midnights” is No. 1 with 1.81 million copies in sales.

BTS’ anthology album “Proof,” released in June, placed third with 422,000 copies in sales.

K-pop boy band Tomorrow X Together (TXT)’s “Minisode 2: Thursday’s Child” is No. 10 with 229,000 copies in sales in the US last year.

In the Top CD Sales in 2022 in the US, seven K-pop artists occupied the top 10. BTS’ “Proof” grabbed second place with 413,000 copies in sales while TXTs “Minisode 2: Thursday’s Child” is No. 3 with 227,000 copies sold.
