P1.1-M 'shabu' seized; 5 nabbed in Marikina buy-bust

More than P1.1 million worth of suspected shabu were seized from five individuals in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Marikina City Police (CPS) in Barangay Concepcion Uno, Marikina City on Tuesday, Jan. 10.

Police identified the suspects as alias "Mark”, 26; “Ton”, 45 ; “Aya”, 32; jobless, all from Marikina City; alias "Ci", 31, from San Mateo, Rizal; and a minor.

Investigation disclosed that the suspects were arrested at No. 8 4th Street, Goodrich Village, Bgry. Conception Uno at around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The buy-bust operation was conducted in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Confiscated from the suspects were around 165 grams of alleged shabu worth P1,112,000.

The suspects, one of them a female, were brought to the Marikina CPS office for proper documentation and investigation. They were later turned over to the Eastern Police District (EPD) Forensic Unit for drug testing.

The four suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, the police said.

The minor was placed under the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, it added.
