"Ikinagagalak natin pagkakahirang ni Peace Process Adviser Sec. Carlito “Charlie” Galvez Jr. bilang bagong kalihim ng , isang napakahalagang responsibilidad lalo na sa pagpapanatili ng kapayapaan sa ating bansa (We are happy with the appointment of Peace Process Adviser Sec. Carlito “Charlie” Galvez Jr. as the new secretary of the a key responsibility especially in keeping the peace in the country)," Hataman said in a statement.

"Naniniwala tayo na ang solido at matagal na karanasan ni Sec. Galvez sa usaping pangkapayapaan ay makakatulong ng malaki sa paggampan ng kanyang bagong tungkulin, mandato at responsibilidad (We believe that the solid and lengthy experience of Sec. Galvez on the topic of peace would be a huge advantage toward the fulfillment of his new duty, mandate, and responsibility)," said the House deputy minority leader.

"Sa katunayan, instrumental si Sec. Charlie sa tinatamasa nating kapayapaan ngayon hindi lamang sa BARMM kundi pati na rin sa buong Mindanao (In fact, Sec. Charlie was instrumental in achieving the peace that we're now enjoying not only in BARMM but in the entire Mindanao)," the ranking solon further said.

BARMM stands for Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. The entity superseded the ARMM, where Hataman was a former governor.

"Ang pamamahala ng tanggulang pambansa na nakabatay sa mga adhikain ng kapayapaan at katarungan (Leading the national defense agency should be based on aspirations of peace and justice)," noted Hataman.

"Bilang isang mahusay na sundalo, nauunawaan ni Sec. Charlie na ang susi sa kapayapaan ay hindi sa lakas ng puwersa o karahasan: mahalaga ang pagtutulungan ng komunidad at lokal na pamahalaan pati na rin ang pagtugon sa ugat ng digmaan (As a fine soldier, Sec. Charlie understands that the key to peace isn't strength of force or violence: cooperation between the community and local government is important, as well as addressing the root cause of war)," he said.

"Kaya tayo ay lubos naniniwala sa kakayahan ni Sec. Charlie na mapanatili ang ating mga ganansiyang pangkapayapaan sa Mindanao at sa BARMM. At makakaasa si Sec. Charlie sa ating tulong kung sakaling kailanganin man niya ito (That's why we fully believe in Sec. Charlie's ability to maintain the progress of peace that we've gained in Mindanao and BARMM)," Hataman concluded.
