There are still 3,349 families or 11,004 people affected by the widespread flooding in recent weeks who remain in 52 evacuation centers, based on a report by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Jan. 10.

DSWD said that there are also 41 families, or 206 individuals, who are also staying outside the evacuation centers.

The rains caused by the shear line—a boundary line where cold and warm air masses meet—has affected 182,952 families or 710,770 individuals from 1,097 barangays.

So far, the DSWD, local government units (LGUs), and DSWD partners have provided at least P61 million worth of food and non-food items as resource augmentation to areas affected by widespread flooding in the Bicol region and parts of Visayas and Mindanao.

Food and non-food aid were already distributed to the affected families in the Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, Soccsksargen, Caraga, and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

DSWD has at least P1.27 billion worth of resources composed of P82 million standby funds or quick response funds and P1.18 billion worth of food and non-food stockpiles that are readily available for distribution.
