Child hurt in Negros city landslide


BACOLOD CITY - An eight-year-old boy was wounded after their house was hit by a landslide at Sitio Panlucasan, Barangay Cabatangan, Talisay City, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, Jan. 11.

The victim, whose name was withheld, suffered an eye injury, and was taken to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) here, according to authorities.

His five family members are now temporarily staying with a relative in Barangay Concepcion. Food packs were given to the affected household.

Another landslide was also reported at crossing San Agustin, Barangay Paraiso, Sagay City also Wednesday.

Clearing operation was immediately conducted for the safety of the motorists.

The landslides were caused by incessant rain brought by a low pressure area in the province.
