Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez announced that some 8,700 city government employees will receive higher salary starting this month as part of the mandated increases under the Salary Standardization Law V signed by President Rodrigo Duterte in January 2020.
Olivarez said the increase will be the fourth and last tranche under the salary standardization law and will bring the lowest monthly pay in the city government to around P13,000 for Salary Grade 1 employees, which is above the current minimum wage.
“We are happy to inform our employees that the 4th tranche of the Salary Standardization Law has been fully funded in our annual budget and the increase will be reflected in the payrolls starting January 15,” the mayor said.
The mayor said the entire salary increase for all city government employees has a budget of around P120 million.
The fifth Salary Standardization Law was signed by former President Duterte on January 8, 2020, and the first tranche became effective and payable that same month.
The second tranche was released in January 2021 while the third was given on January 2022. All permanent, co-terminus, and casual employees are covered by the salary increase.
Parañaque City has a P11.3 billion approved budget for this year.
