CAMP DANGWA, Benguet -- Thirteen individuals wanted by the law were arrested in the first week of intensified campaign this year against criminals.
Police Regional Office-Cordillera regional director Brigadier General Mafelino Bazar said the Baguio City Police Office recorded the highest number of arrests with six, followed by Benguet Police Provincial Office with five arrests; and Ifugao PPO and Kalinga PPO with one arrest each.
Highlighting the weeklong manhunt operation from Jan. 1 to Jan. 7 was the arrest of the most wanted person at the municipal level.
Bazar said that as a result of the intensified police presence and campaign against criminality during the same period, 59 municipalities in the Cordillera Region and two police stations of the Baguio City Police Office recorded zero crime incidents.
In Abra, 22 out of 27 municipalities recorded zero crime incidents as well as in 10 out of 11 municipalities in Ifugao.
Also recording zero crime incidents were nine municipalities in Mt. Province, eight in Benguet, five towns each in Apayao and Kalinga.
Aurora Hill Police Station (PS6) and Kennon Road Police Station (PS8) recorded zero crime incidents out of 10 police stations in Baguio City.
