5 people arrested in shabu bust in Taguig

Five persons, including two who were tagged as high value individuals, were arrested by the police in a buy-bust operation in Taguig on Jan. 10.

The operation was conducted by the Southern Police District’s Drug Enforcement Unit and other personnel along Bangbang ni Felix in Barangay Calzada, Taguig.

According to the SPD, arrested during the buy-bust operation were Ma. Cristina Vargas, 32, tagged by the SPD as an HVI and alleged drug den maintainer; George Kenosis Sayson, 32, alleged HVI; Faiza Mabatao, 27; Omar Pacasum, 26; and Junaid Maca-agir, 28.

The police were able to seize nine plastic sachets containing suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) weighing 50.9 grams valued at P340,000 and P500 used as buy-bust money.

The suspects were brought to the SPD and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
