
BACOLOD CITY -- A total of 276 newly-promoted policemen here took their oath in a ceremony held at the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) on Tuesday, Jan. 10.
Twenty were commissioned police officers, while 256 were non-commissioned police officers.
These policemen were promoted to next rank on Dec. 16, 2022, as part of the CY 2022 promotion and selection program of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Among the promoted commissioned police officers were Major Christopher John Masangkay, head of Police Station 5, Major Elmer Bonilla, head of Police Station 7, and Major Armilyn Vargas, head of Police Station 3.
Of the 256 non-commissioned officers, seven were promoted to Executive Master Sgt., 12 to Chief Master Sgt., 14 to Senior Master Sgt., 29 Master Sgt., 108 to Staff Sgt., and 86 to Corporal.
During the ceremonial oath-taking, donning, and pinning of ranks, Brig. Gen. Leo Francisco, director of Police Regional Office (PRO)-Western Visayas, congratulated the newly-promoted personnel via Zoom for a well-deserved promotion.
Francisco challenged them to do their job well, be efficient and effective, and do their mandated task in giving quality police service to the people they serve.
