Woman wounded by stray bullet in Iloilo City

ILOILO CITY — A woman was wounded by a stray bullet on New Year’s Eve in Iloilo City.

Police identified the victim as 20-year-old Kate Cambronero of Barangay Rizal in La Paz District.

Cambronero was in bed when the stray bullet hit her left leg at past 9 p.m. She was taken to the hospital.

The La Paz Police Station of the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) has yet to identify the gun used or who it belonged to.

Police recovered the fired cartridge from two other houses.

Meanwhile, police confiscated several pieces of banned firecrackers and "boga" or improvised cannon here on New Year’s Eve.
