Vice President Sara Duterte has encouraged the nation to carry on with their "unyielding Filipino spirit" to bounce back from challeneging times towards a progressive 2023.

"I join the entire Filipino nation in welcoming the New Year 2023.
Today marks a new and promising season of growth for every Filipino across diverse sectors and segments of society," Duterte said in her New Year's Day message.
She expressed that the occasion is a celebration of "a juncture of renewed gratitude and optimism" as she enjoined Filipinos to contiue their sense of nationhood and "unshakable resiliency."
"As we close the year that passed and leaf through another chapter of transformative opportunities, life-changing experiences, and innovative enterprises, may we continue to carry the unyielding Filipino spirit that enables us to bounce back from challenging times and forge a path toward our common hopes of a stronger and more progressive future," she said.
The Vice President also urged the citizenry to "collective resolve and fortitude to begin anew amid the difficulties this past year may have brought our social, economic, and civic pursuits."
Duterte is also hoping for a better nation-building efforts this year.
She told the nation to envision a "dynamic year" ahead that is filled with purpose and steadfastness to build a better life.
"I am hopeful that our tireless nation-building efforts will redound to the success of our undertakings in governance, the business arena, the agricultural sector, and in other viable industries so that we can conduct our development efforts with utmost regard to the greater good of the entire nation," Duterte said.
