In a statement, the DILG Nueva Ecija explained that it has pushed further the call as it joined the ‘Unity Walk, Prayer Rally, Candidates Forum and Peace Covenant Signing’ where various sectors including the interfaith groups participated.
Spearheaded by the Nueva Ecija Provincial Police Office (NEPPO), candidates gunning for various barangay posts in the coming elections gathered to show their overwhelming support to the activity.
Representatives from the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), Department of Education (DepEd), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP)- 84th Infantry Division and other stakeholders were on hand to witness the covenant signing.
“DILG Nueva Ecija Provincial Director Ofelio A. Tactac, Jr., along with Provincial Office personnel participated in the said activity,’’ the DILG noted.
The activity started with a unity walk from the Old Capitol towards the NEPPO Gym where the prayer rally, candidate's forum and peace covenant signing was held.
Tactac reminded the aspirant barangay and SK candidates “not to indulge on premature campaigning, lauding and thanking all the political aspirants, concerned agencies and stakeholders for their commitment to ensuring a peaceful and orderly 2023 BSKE.’’
