Cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers, thunderstorms to prevail in Metro Manila, rest of PH
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms will be experienced in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon on Saturday, Sept. 8, according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

“Sa kasalukuyan ay southwest moonsoon pa din o habagat ang nakakapekto sa may kanlurang bahagi ng Northern at Central Luzon (At present, the southwest monsoon or 'habagat' still affects the western part of Northern and Central Luzon),” weather specialist Veronica Torres said.
“Asahan natin na ang magiging panahon dito sa Metro Manila area at sa ating buong kapuluan, partly cloudy to cloudy skies na may mga isolated rainshowers or thunderstorm (We can expect the weather here in the Metro Manila area and throughout our archipelago to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms),” she added.
Given this, Torres said the PAGASA regional services division may release a rainfall and thunderstorm advisory or a heavy rainfall warning in the affected areas, if necessary.
The Visayas PAGASA Regional Services Division (Visayas PRSD), for instance, issued a thunderstorm advisory stating that "moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds due to thunderstorms" will be expected.
The said conditions that may last within an hour are being experienced in Palawan specifically in areas including Narra, Aborlan, the southern portion of Puerto Princesa City, Quezon, Brooke's Point, and Rizal.
It will also be expected in Sofrono, Espanola in Palawan, and Occidental Mindoro specifically in Santa Cruz, Sablayan, Calintaan, Rizal, and Mamburao.
"All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides," the PAGASA Visayas PSRD said in a Facebook post.
Cloud clusters being monitored
Meanwhile, Torres noted that the cloud clusters being monitored still have a low chance of becoming a Low Pressure Area (LPA).
"Makikita natin sa ating satellite imagery dito sa silangang bahagi ng ating bansa, mayroon tayong nakikitang mga cloud clusters (As we can see in the satellite imagery in the eastern portion of the country, we can see that there are cloud clusters),” she Torres explained.
“Ito ay mababa ang tyansa na maging low pressure area in the next 24 to 48 hours (These have low chance to develop as low pressure area in the next 24 to 48 hours,” she added. (Lizst Torres Abello)
