BTS’ Jungkook debuts at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100 chart with ‘Seven’ 


Grammy-nominated K-pop idol group BTS member Jungkook continued his success on music chart with his debut solo single “Seven (feat. Latto).” 

“Seven” debuted at No. 1 on the July 29-dated Billboard Hot 100 chart, Jungkook’s first song to top the chart. He is the second BTS member to have a No. 1 ranking on the Hot 100 following Jimin’s “Like Crazy” last April.

According to Billboard, “Seven (feat. Latto)” became the “1,151st No. 1 since the Hot 100 began in August 1958. It’s the 68th leader to debut at No. 1.”

The Hot 100 chart is based on the ”all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data, the lattermost metric reflecting purchases of physical singles and digital tracks from full-service digital music retailers; digital singles sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites are excluded from chart calculations.” 

“Seven (feat. Latto)” garnered “21.9 million streams, 6.4 million in airplay audience and 153,000 combined digital and CD singles sold from its release July 14 through July 20, according to Luminate,” which supplies music data to Billboard. 

“'Seven (feat. Latto)' debuted #1 on the HOT 100! We're always grateful for your love and support #BTSARMY,” BTS’ official Twitter account posted. 

The song also debuted at No. 2 on the Digital Song Sales, No. 4 on Streaming Songs, No. 30 on Adult Pop Airplay and No. 33 on Pop Airplay.

In addition, “Seven (feat. Latto)” also debuted at No. 1 on the  Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts dated July 29. 

Jungkook earlier made history on the UK Official Charts when “Seven (feat. Latto)” debuted at No. 3 on the Official Singles Chart for the period July 21 to 27. With this, he surpassed the debuts on the chart of fellow BTS members J-Hope and Jimin. 

On Spotify, “Seven (feat. Latto) explicit version topped the weekly global chart with 89,748,171 streams for the week covering July 14 to 20.
