The younger Yulo flashed his promising form in vault where he finished fourth with 13.450 points behind top qualifier Moon Geongyoung of South Korea, who scored 14.325.

The Filipino bet, who spent weeks training in Japan, scored 13.600 on his first vault and 13.300 on his second.

He also booked a finals berth in the floor exercise after finishing sixth with 13.250 behind top three qualifiers Wang Changcheng (13.550) and Huai Tianlang (13.450) of China, and Kazakhstan’s Nurtan Idrissov (13.400).

Yulo, however, failed to progress in rings (12.150 for 16thplace), high bar (11.850 for 23rd), parallel bars (12.150 for 25th) and pommel horse (10.900 for 29th).

The apparatus finals will be on Monday, June 12.

The Manila native, meanwhile, finished 15thin the individual all-around with an accumulated 73.900 score, with Japanese Masaharu Tanida bagging the gold medal with 79.900.

Rento Noda, also from Japan, claimed silver in 79.800 while Moon bagged the bronze in 78.650.

Meanwhile, Yulo’s younger sister Elaiza Andriel and Haylee Garcia are competing in the distaff side at presstime.
