The Pasig City local government announced on Thursday, June 8, that it will hold a city-wide job fair in celebration of the 125th year of the country's Independence Day on Monday, June 12.
The job fair, spearheaded by the Pasig City Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), will be held at Rizal High School gymnasium from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
According to the city government, around 60 different companies have pledged their participation in the event.
Aspiring Pasigueños were urged to prepare multiple copies of their resumes and ball pens.
Job seekers were also advised to prepare themselves as they can be interviewed by the participating companies and be hired on-the-spot.
Aside from the job fair, the event will also serve as a one-stop-shop for other employment requirements such as SSS, BIR, Pag-Ibig, and PNP clearance.
"Para sa first time job seekers na kukuha ng libreng police clearance, magdala ng Barangay Certificate at Oath of Undertaking mula sa inyong mga barangay na nagpapatunay na kayo ay first time job seekers (For first time job seekers who will get their free police clearance, they must present their Barangay Certificate and Oath of Undertaking from their respective barangays as proof that they really are indeed first time job seekers)," the city government added.
Pasig City had previously conducted a post-Labor Day job fair held on May 2 wherein 254 out of 800 jobseekers were hired-on-the-spot.
Among those who flocked to the Tanghalang Pasigueño for the fair, 161 were classified as "near-hires" or those who received favorable initial responses from the companies they applied to but still need to undergo second or final interviews with their potential employers.
More than 30 local and foreign companies participated in the event.
