Manila LGU's medical mission benefits over 24,500 residents

Over 24,500 Manileños have received free healthcare services through the City of Manila’ s medical mission program. The medical mission, known as "Araw N'yo, Serbisyo Ko," is a program led by the Office of Vice Mayor Yul Servo Nieto, in collaboration with the Office of Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan, that aims to address the health and wellness needs of Manila residents, particularly those from impoverished communities. The city government has already conducted the medical mission in Manila's Districts 1 to 6, offering various free medical services such as eye checkups with complimentary eyeglasses and minor surgeries. The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to Mayor Honey and Vice Mayor Yul for initiating and implementing this program. "Nakapagpa-check up na kami ng libre, nabigyan pa kami ng maintenance at gamot na kinakailangan namin. Sana ipagpatuloy ito nila Vice at Mayora, kasi malaking ginhawa ito lalo na sa aming mga mahihirap. (We were able to have a free checkup and were even given the maintenance and medicine we needed. I hope Vice and Mayora continue this because it is a great relief, especially for poor people like us)," said one of the beneficiaries. Servo, meanwhile, extended his appreciation to private organizations and volunteers who have supported and assisted the program such as the Manila Chinese Action Team (MCAT), Scout Royale Brotherhood, Lions Club International, Philippine Coast Guard, Manila Health Department, RAHA Fire Volunteers, health centers, among others. To further continue the program and reach more Manileños, another medical mission is scheduled to take place on June 10 in Brgy. 528 Zone 52.
