Villaflor formally assumed the highest Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 post in a ceremony on Wednesday, May 24, in Camp Delgado, the police regional headquarters in Iloilo City.

He said policemen in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental provinces as well as the highly urbanized cities of Iloilo and Bacolod must regain the trust of the public by conducting police operations with integrity and honesty.

Villaflor reminded them to uphold the rule of law and human rights in police operations.

“We will ensure that we follow standard police operational procedures in conducting law enforcement operations and guarantee that we establish airtight cases to be referred before the appropriate authority to help in conviction,” said Villaflor.

For Villaflor, it is part of the internal cleansing of erring cops.

Villaflor assured that he will continue the programs  against illegal drugs, illegal firearms, illegal gambling, and work with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) against communist insurgency.

He replaced Police Brig. Gen.  Leo Francisco, who had been assigned to Camp Crame in Quezon City.
